Don’t Stand so Close to Me – Dedicated to all my teachers I lusted over

11:28 pm in Uncategorized by grindhouse

Okay, so its no secret I have a thing for older men...always have. And you know, I stem it all back to my school days -

Ever since the FOURTH GRADE - I remember feeling all tingly, all, dare I say it, sexual inside, not when it came to fellow classmates (boys) - but when it came to my teachers (men)!

I can't believe I'm even admitting this. My goodness. Its really the only reason I stayed in school. I remember telling my mom about my "crushes" - I think she was a little freaked out. Um, duh! Haha. I was a little weirdo. Awful thing is, like everyone knew about my mad love!

Let me break this down for you -

4th Grade - Home Room Teacher - Mr. Bronny

He had a long ponytail. somewhat of a hippie. carried me when I passed out to the nurse's office. so heroic, so unique, he always popped that breath mint before talking to me. sigh

Freshman Year of High School - English - Mr. Baker

He recited Shakespeare, he had me right then and there. So distinguished. He had premature gray hair and was the wrestling coach. Whenever he touched me I was like, ahhhhhhh. Saved ALL my papers from him and my heart rate monitor (that I had him strap around me cause silly me couldn't figure it out)

Junior Year of High School - Science - Mr. Dunn

This one was pretty bad. I was like a little 16 year old stalker. I would stop by his room on my "breaks" to talk about movies and whatnot. He even lent me his copy of Se7ven...which was a huge deal. This guy had it all, brains, brawn, and glasses. Football coach. I was a cheerleader. Major American Beauty fantasies with this one.

Second Year of College - Acting - Jason

Okay, so I guess I was an adult on this one (not "young girl") - but still he was my teacher. And the authority he had, that gets this little girls heart pumping. And the innuendos were amazing. It was actually legal to be flirtatious. Definitely reminiscent of the old days of inappropriate crushes.

So before you'all think I'm a big ol hussy...let me explain, these were all just that - CRUSHES.

Totally didn't act on it. I would just go home and makeout with my couch and think of them. It was really REALLY hard to concentrate in school. But I never quit thanks to them!

Not to mention - I AM OBSESSED WITH STING.

ga - could you imagine him as the teach for real???? yeah - no restraint. we'd be a lifetime movie in the works!

kind of off my steamolicious student tales...

this video also marks my 20 pounds lost mark!

169 - - -

20 pounds in 5 months may not seem like a lot - but it is to me!!!! It soooo hard...especially since I love to cook!!!

HERE I AM 5 MONTHS AGO - BELLY - EW!

haha better before and after will come at the 30 pound mark! that'll be half way there

I'm getting back on it more strict for a very top secret reason...you'll find out soon enough ;)

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

oh and um, what other scandalous songs can you think of like this???

I like YOUNG GIRL by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap...trying to think of others. I'm all about these! Now that I'm actually legal...not as funnnnn (but kind of)

Banjo Barbie – Bluegrass Weekend Extravaganza Review and Dolly Parton!

11:14 pm in Uncategorized by grindhouse

Helloooooooooooooooooooooo -

So this is a long video because I think I decided to speak my entire description rather than writing it. Anyways, I was just sooooooooo jazzed over this past weekend - I really couldn't help but go on and on and on and on....

I had sooooo much funnnnn!

First of all, I never witnessed so much talent in my life. It really was inspiring. I used to play all the time when I was in high school - I got to be pretty good but I haven't really sat down with any one instrument in years, since I kind of went the whole acting route.

However, not only did it motivate me to kind of pick it up again (guess its like riding a bike, once you know you kind of just always know) - it really just put my whole mind at ease. Its like releasing you know. Stresses of life can totally weigh a person down if you don't take time to like step back and evaluate LIFE itself and how much fun it can be.

I digress.

All three of these festivals were a real hoot and I suggest if there are any bluegrass gatherings in your area - to check them out.

Even if you're not a fan of the genre (my sister really wasn't at first) - there's still something that I think is going to grab you if you put yourself out and give it a listen.

Sorry again for the length - I was kind of all over the place and was on a very short time frame to get this done...

BANJO STARTS AT 3:19

SINGING STARTS AT 8:20

like I always say, my youtube videos are really just for funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! its kind of like a public diary! I mean usually I do em for my entertainment...but if someone else can get a kick out of them - then yippeeeeeee!

I think I have a bonus video I'm going to put up a little later today - its to mark my 20 pound weightloss mark. 20 pounds in 4 months is not really a ton - but I'm proud of myself...cause it ain't easy. especially when you love to cook!

CHECK BACK!!!!

Hugs and Kisses,

TRISH

3:28 pm in Uncategorized by grindhouse

not much to say on this one! just I love the Nard Dog.

to angela: you blew it babe!

to erin: back off, bitch!

hahaha. jk

but seriously. obsessed with The Office. officially coming out. best show ever. hands down.

I love every single one of the characters - literally. I could write a song for each one! they are all amazing. and I'd make out with any of them - including David Wallace, in the new season they are showing him all scruffy and whatnot - yummmm.

but yes. andy bernard is the classic. and he plays the banjo (which I do too) I debated on playing it for this video...didn't want to geek out too much - psh. who am I kidding? I think that cat is already out of the beg.

for the record - I have andy bernard singing Rockin' Robin as my ringtone...ask me how ;)

ENJOY!!!

watch new episodes of "The Office" every Thursday night on NBC at 9/8c

watch reruns (everything you missed) of "The Office" every day on TBS 8/7c (tues - 3 hour marathon)

xoxo

***I wrote the lyrics, not the song. I put the lyrics to the song of "American Pie" by Don McLean. I do not own the music***

I’M FEATURED AS BARB WIRE @ COTTAGE HOME LA – JAN 9 TO FEB 6

2:21 am in Uncategorized by grindhouse

If you’re in the Los Angeles area from now until Feb 6 – I totally suggest (very highly) that you check out this amazing art gallery!!! Perhaps I am a little biased because I was involved with this project but it is one of my favorite (if not my most favorite-est) piece of work I contributed to. One, because I love Pammy Anderson and Barb Wire. And two, because the video artist is amazing, sweet, and talented!

There are reviews coming out within the next month – so check out the LA TIMES and upcoming Art Forum Magazine!

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Michele O’Marah
A girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do
January 9 – February 6, 2010

Kathryn Brennan Gallery is thrilled to present A girls got to do what a girls got to do, an exhibition of new work by Michele O’Marah. For the exhibition, O’Marah has created three new video works that are re-created scenes from the Pamela Anderson film Barb Wire (1996). Continuing her examination of the mass media representation of the revolutionary, this exhibition is the second half of a project that began with her piece How Goes it with the Black Movement? (2007), whose focus was a PBS broadcast interview between Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton and conservative host and author William F. Buckley on his program Firing Line. A counterpoint to the heady, academic discussion of the former, O’Marah’s current source, Barb Wire, is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name. Anderson’s “Barb” is a disaffected mercenary in the post-Second U.S. Civil War city of Steel Harbor, who gets caught in the middle of the revo lutionary activities of a former flame who is working to expose the ruling Neo-Fascist government for its ruthless behavior. Aimed at a Gen X audience, the film has acquired a cult status despite a poor reception, both critically and at the box office.

For A girls got to do what a girls got to do, the artist will be exhibiting three video works, installations of set pieces, photographs, and text-based drawings. Having re-staged four scenes from the film, O’Marah has cast a different actress for each to play the character of Barb. In addition to the artist’s probe of the corporatized, MTV version of a revolutionary hero, O’Marah’s efforts serve as deconstructive analyses of the film’s representation of femininity. Hiring a diverse range of professional actresses to fill Anderson’s stiletto high heels, O’Marah’s “Barb” takes various forms. Working with each actress, O’Marah’s video works take on the most sexually explicit scenes from the film and offer a variety of interpretations of the lead role: campy, flirty, and sexy. The one-dimensional, Barbie Doll of a character is given a depth, sexuality, and humor that is lacking in the original. Set pieces from the production of the videos re-installed and accessori zed with photographs and sculptures blur the line between art installation and function. In addition, a series of text-based works on paper, pulled from dialogue and lyrics from the film’s soundtrack (primarily new metal cover versions of older songs), address issues of authorship and contrivance.

Michele O’Marah received her BFA from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and currently resides in Los Angeles. O’Marah has had solo exhibitions at Sister, Los Angeles and Mary Goldman, Los Angeles as well as two person exhibitions at Rental, New York and Peres Projects, Berlin. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions at the CCAC Wattis Institute in San Fancisco, White Columns, New York, Blum & Poe, Los Angeles, the London Institute of Contemporary Art, London, and The Station, Art Basel Miami Beach.

World’s Fastest Talker Attempt – 650 WPM

1:30 pm in Uncategorized by grindhouse

Hello!

So this is my "attempt" at the World Record for Fastest Talker. I say attempt because an official has to be on hand to make it certain - so technically I can't give myself the title without the authorization.

I had a different video posted last night but because I wasn't talking at the beginning - people think I sped the whole video up. Which, I understand, could be said about this one too - but I assure you it is not.

The current world record is held by a man at 637 words per minute (this man has held the record for the past 20 years now). The world's fastest female talker is currently at 603 words per minute (as mentioned in my video).

This passage is from "The Pleasure of my Company" by Steve Martin.

Hope you all have a great New Year. 2010 is going to be amazing - I know it!

xoxo

November is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month – Movember

2:08 pm in Uncategorized by grindhouse

So Grow a Mustache and Support!

It’s such a great cause and I really hope this starts gaining even more recognition. I believe that statistics say that 1 out of 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. Movember is all about raising money and awareness to help with this – sort of like the pink ribbon for breast cancer – encouraging men to grow moustaches for the month of November. Its fun and its beneficial and as a chick – I think they are damn sexy!

I was lucky enough to be part of a fun little psa for Movember a few weeks back and got to meet the man who started Movember – starting with just a group of his close friends and now going world wide. He was very passionate about this; really inspiring.

Check it out below – oh, I’m hooker no. 2! we were just not into that giant prostate cancer!

Lots of Love!

Happy November!
